Colours can have a powerful effect on your senses, your mood, and your overall sense of wellbeing. While vibrant reds and oranges are full of energy, colours like blue and green can have a more soothing effect.

But what if you could encounter pigments with a little more, shall we say, pizzazz?

An innovative event by Samsung this autumn will help colours come alive. By immersing attendees in a visually stunning experience that highlights the power of perfect colour volume, the QLED Live event on 8 April will show how crisp, clear, vibrant colour takes entertainment to a whole new level.

Think of it as a saturation showcase ideal for movie buffs and gaming devotees alike.

Guests will be able to experience the wonders of Quantum Dot technology, which powers Samsung’s cutting edge QLED display. Quantum Dot can reproduce the purest and most accurate colours as individual nanoparticles, which are smaller than one ten-thousandth the diameter of a human hair. This is also the ideal TV for gamers, with 200Hz motion rate and a super low input lag thanks to the Clear Connection, which offers data transfer speeds of 75Gbps. Auto Detection allows Samsung’s QLED TVs to automatically detect devices such as Xbox One, PS4, Foxtel boxes, and more and label them in the Source of the Smart Hub. Which means you can spend less time looking for your device and more time actually playing it.

So whether it’s watching a movie, catching a match on TV, or taking your gaming experience to a whole new level, the QLED display helps amplify your entertainment.

The first stop at the event is a light room – a visual palate cleanser of sorts – which guests enter to kick things off. From there, they’ll travel through The Dot, a tunnel representing the journey of light through the Quantum Dot, and arrive at four colour rooms. Inside each of the rooms – blue, green, red, and black – a different experience awaits them. At every turn they’ll be fully immersed in a particular colour and the emotions it evokes.

In the Blue Room, they’ll ride on a swing surrounded by clouds, while in the Green Room they’ll relive their childhood thanks to green grass and lawn games. The Red Room is the most high-energy room, meant to spike guests’ adrenaline with flashing lights, sounds, and a singular QLED screen. In the Black Room, guests will be enveloped in the blackest, deepest of blacks. Once the door closes, they will be in complete darkness. The only light will come from pinholes on the ceiling to imitate stars, mirrored to appear as if they night sky goes on forever.

The last stop is the Australian lounge room, a product showcase where guests will have the chance to view the QLED technology and examine the televisions for themselves.

Throughout the event, YouTube star and Unlisted Leaf will be playing games with guests and exploring how QLED technology creates the ultimate display for gaming. HDR 2000 allows a QLED TV to reveal every detail in bright and dark areas of the screen. This higher brightness rating allows a display to show even more of those little details you could miss on a conventional TV. Sharper, vivid colours help blur the lines between reality and fantasy worlds on the screen, thus deepening the experience even further.
